If voting intimidates you, you’re not alone. Yes, we all know that voting is extremely important, especially for young voters like ourselves. But the real question is, how are we supposed to keep up with all of these elections while we’re in college? Well we're here to help.

So, let's break down what exactly is going on right now.

Review of last week’s election: On November 8, the midterm and gubernatorial elections took place. So, this election wasn’t for the president. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t important. In fact, in many ways it's even more important.

What’s a midterm election: a midterm election happens during the 2nd year of a presidential term. It's when we get the chance to vote for the house of representatives and ⅓ of the senate.

What’s a gubernatorial election: An election for governor. It occured in 36 states and 3 territories.

And if you read that and got a headache– we get it. This information can be a lot, and having to all of a sudden be expected to know what to do can get overwhelming. So here is a simple list of some things you can do:

●make sure that you are registered to vote

●research your candidates: while the midterms are over, local elections happen year-round and are just as important.
