The Cringy Bullshit of our Childhoods

Hey Jerks. Let’s take a little trip down memory road shall we. Remember those times we’d burst out in the Whip and Nae Nae dance? Film bad Musical.ly lip-sync videos at sleepovers? Listening to  “Lips are Movin” and “All About That Bass” by Megan Trainor on repeat 24/7? If you flinched just now reading any of these, congratulations, you were just like the rest of us.

Looking back now, it’s almost impossible to to not cringe at all the things we did as children and pre-teens. Probably an effect of our frontal lobes finally being developed enough to see through the haze of thinking busting out random dabs in public was the peak of all coolness possible.

But it really did feel great back then didn’t it, all those trends? I wonder, when we look at TikTok and this new generation of kids growing up on the app and all it’s little trends, will they also look back one day and cringe with the force of embarrassment as we do now?

What we can know is that those days when we would run around with around friends doing the Milly Rock and washi-taping everything with teal chevron patterns we sure did feel like we were all the shit.

I hope you enjoyed coming down memory lane with me and maybe go back to listen to all the old songs you were obsessed with. It definitely helps with showing your growth. I know it did for me.
